Obituary

Dixie Ann Minshew, 78, was born on October 19, 1939 in Easterly, Texas to Duard and Wilma (Stem) Wylie.  She passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas.

Dixie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She married the love of her life, Coy Minshew on June 6,1958. Her and her husband had three children together, a son and two daughters, who all found love and stayed near their loving mother, having and raising children of their own. Dixie loved to travel with her husband Coy. When the children were young, they would go on family road trips. Even as the children left home, they continued to do so traveling with their friends to a vacation spot they owned in Arkansas. But they loved to travel and stay in south Texas. Dixie and Coy would load up in their travel trailer and go to McAllen, Texas and stay at the RV park. They would spend time with their traveling group, whether it be fishing or going to Mexico to shop. When Dixie was home, her yard was her own little piece of Heaven. She maintained it with a green thumb, and with the help of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she could make anything grow.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Groveton Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Cemetery in Apple Springs, Texas.
