Derose "D.L." Leggett Pyle, of Groveton, Texas, passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at the age of eighty-nine, peacefully, surrounded by his beloved family. Derose was born on January 23, 1933, in Apple Springs, Texas to parents, Uria and Nora Burran Pyle.
D.L. enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to work and always also enjoyed being able to care for and do for others. He owned and operated Pyle Glass
Company prior to retirement. He had a wonderful and adventurous life with his late wife of 66 years, Trudie (Leeper) Pyle. He loved her so very much and would share their "love story" with everyone. He served in the United States Army for 3 years and served as a peace officer as well. He also loved to do yard work, mowing the lawn, building projects, doing mechanic work where he loved tinkering with his beloved "hot-rods," and attending family reunions. He loved playing dominoes, card games and sharing family history lessons with the younger generations.
D.L. leaves behind to cherish his memories, his siblings: brother, Benjamin "Ben" Pyle; sister, Anzo Richardson and husband, Kent; niece, Barbara "Bobby" Holloway; grandchildren: Neil White and wife, Jennifer, Kevin Trlica, Dusty L. Pyle, Melissa Duke and husband, Michael; great grandchildren: Makayla White, Dade Leona Pyle, Braden Trlica, Sarah Sallas, and Lane Rhodes; great-great grandchild, Willow Rhodes; daughter-in-law, Dianne Pyle; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives, and many friends also survive.
D.L. is preceded in death by his loving parents, Uria and Nora Pyle; wife, Trudie Pyle; daughter, Deborah Lynne Pyle; son, David Lee Pyle; brothers: Mervin Pyle (infant), Charlie Pyle, William Pyle, Peledge Pyle, Clarence Pyle, Clyde Pyle, Johnny Melvin Pyle, Judd Francis Pyle, and James Pyle; sister, Clara Pyle, and a host of other relatives.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Groveton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Kenneth Bunge officiating and Buford Rogers assisting. Interment will follow in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Apple Springs, Texas.
