David Allen Gustavus was born on November 5, 1972 in Pasadena, TX, the son of Richard Melvin Gustavus and Carolyn (Ainsworth) Ritterhouse and passed away on July 13, 2018 in Groveton, TX.

David enjoyed the outdoors.  He was a hard worker and did landscaping for the past several years of his life.  He loved music and could always be found listening to his favorite tunes on the radio.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed working out and keeping up with his health.

Memorial services will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Melvin Gustavus; maternal grandparents, R.E. and Bernice Ainsworth; fraternal grandparents, Melvin and JoAnn Gustavus; step-grandparents, Dean and Dorothy Ritterhouse; step-grandmother, Doris Ainsworth; aunt, Diane Ainsworth; uncle, Charles Ainsworth and uncle, Steve Gustavus.  His survivors include his mother and step-father, Carolyn and Doug Ritterhouse; sister, Amber Strickland and husband, Thomas; half-brother, Levi Gustavus; half-brother, Aaron Gustavus; nephew, Andrew Allen; niece, Victoria Allen; nephew, Cody Strickland; nephew, Beaux Strickland; great-niece, Ariana Ashley; great-nephew, Sebastian Allen; special friend, Donna Longo and a host of other relatives and friends also, survive.
