David "Buddy" Eugene Williams, Sr., age 71 of Trinity, Texas was born on January 5, 1943 in Houston, Texas to the late Jodie Williams, Sr. and Ruby (Standley) Williams and passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014, at his home in Trinity after a long battle with cancer. David loved to fish and could always be found somewhere by the water. He also enjoyed gardening and was known for his vegetable garden. He loved the outdoors could always be found watching the world wake up every morning from his front porch. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jodie Williams, Sr. and Ruby Williams and one brother, Jodie Williams, Jr. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Bonnie Williams; daughter, Debbie Dixon; daughter, Tonja Bryant; son, David Eugene Williams, Jr.; three year old yellow lab (his companion), Peanut; brother, Ronald Durwood; numerous other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for David "Buddy" Eugene Williams, Sr., will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 14, 2014 in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home. Rev. Jack McMahon will officiate.
