Daniel Harry
Yammer
Sep 17, 1945 — Apr 20, 2026
Groveton
Daniel Harry Yammer, 80, of Groveton, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026. He was born on September 17, 1945, in Lexington Park, Maryland, to Clifford R. Yammer and Delores Allen.
Daniel proudly followed in his father's footsteps by joining the United States Army after graduating from high school. Because he grew up in a military family, he spent much of his younger years moving from city to city, an experience that helped shape his love of travel and his straightforward way with people. Daniel never met a stranger and genuinely enjoyed visiting with anyone and everyone he met. He later dedicated many years of service to the transportation industry, working as a bus driver until his retirement.
Daniel will be remembered with love for his kind heart, friendly spirit, and the joy he found in connecting with others. His presence brought warmth to those around him, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly Jean Williams Yammer; his father, Clifford R. Yammer; his mother, Bertha Delores Allen; his brother, David Yammer; his stepfather, Caroll Allen; his stepsister, Christy Pope; and his brother-in-law, Burl Mercer.
He is survived by his adopted children, daughter Lisa J. Wingate, and son Billy Yammer; his sister, Nancy Jean Mercer; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Groveton Funeral Home. Rev. Jeffrey Hastings will officiate. Interment will take place later that day at Grace Land Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas.
Daniel's life was one of service, conversation, and connection. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
