Cletis Ray Stephens was born on September 27, 1947 in Honey Grove, TX, the son of James Hillmon Stephens and Roxie Mae (Waits) Stephens and passed away May 20, 2018 in Lufkin, TX.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, TX.  Graveside services will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery in Nogalus Prairie, TX with Bro. Joshua Currie officiating.

Cletis was a loving father, son, brother, and grandfather.  He loved the Lord and attended church at Bible Believers Baptist Church in Centralia, TX.  He could often be found listening to scriptures from the bible.  He loved to spend time with his family and his friends.  He especially loved being with his grandchildren and creating new memories.  He was a bit of a musician and truly loved playing his guitar.  Cletis also enjoyed fishing and to drive as fast as he could whenever it was allowed.  He was also a bit of a tinkerer.  He was always working on stuff like the lawn mower or whatever he could find.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Roxie Stephens; a son, Jim Ray and six of his siblings:  sister, Ellen Nave Stephens, brothers, Haskell Stephens, Norman Stephens, Jimmy Stephens, George Stephens, and Wayne Stephens.  His survivors include his children:   sons, Nicholas Stephens, Damon Stephens, Cletis Charles Stephens, Jeffrey Stephens and Gabriel Rain Renard; daughters, Kindle Stephens, Melanie Stephens and Diana Stephens; sister, Betty Henderson and husband, Tracy Henderson; numerous grandchildren; special friend, Marlene White and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also, survive.
