Clell Hayden Davis passed from this life into eternity on August 6, 2019 surrounded by his family at his home in Groveton, TX at the age of 82 years. He was born in Groveton, TX in the Mossy Creek Community of Trinity County, April 28, 1937, the son of Clarence and Velma Fondren Davis. He graduated from High School and later met the love of his life, Mellowayne Walker. Clell, proudly served in the United States Army after high school and later married his sweetheart on November 24, 1956 in Nogales Prairie at Calvary Church by Pastor Billy Smith. Clell loved being a father and he especially loved when he became a grandfather and a great grandfather. He and Mellowayne had three amazing children together and he worked hard to always make sure that his family was comfortable. Clell worked in the petroleum industry as a supervisor until his retirement. Mr. and Mrs. Davis belong as members at Calvary Baptist Church and Prairie View Methodist Church, both in Nogales Prairie.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Velma Davis and his daughter, Melanie Dian Davis. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 63 years, Mellowayne Davis of Groveton, TX; two children: son, Clell Dwayne Davis and wife, Kelly Davis; son, Carey Hayden Davis and wife, Lucy Davis; siblings: sister, Leba Charlene Ham and husband, Bob Ham; brother, Clarence Davis, Jr.; grandchildren: Callan Davis, Caylie Carnine and husband, Billy Carnine, Connley Davis, Chase Davis, Shelby Davis, Nicole Davis and Lynette Davis; great grandchildren: Olivia Jane Carnine and Carmen Davis and a host of other relatives and friends, also survive.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Nogales Prairie, TX. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church with Bro. James Whittlesey officiating and Rev. Larry Dunn assisting. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Nogales Prairie, TX.
