Clara was born and raised in Livingston and she accepted the Lord at the early age of nine. She was a hard worker and worked as a mechanic in box factories where she welded and ran the ship yard during war. Upon working in the ship yard she obtained some injuries and continued to work as a mechanic. She was still working as a mechanic when she met her husband, Woodrow White. They later married in 1947 and then Clara went on to attend Beauty School in 1948. She worked as a beauty operator for numerous years and opened her own shop in Groveton in 1982. She loved her family and helped to take good care of them when her husband became ill. She enjoyed being able to help people within the community and later helped to found an establishment known as Ladies in Action. She devoted numerous hours to Ladies in Action as well as to helping to teach Sunday School Classes and styling hair at the local nursing home. Clara was always on the go and willing to help anyone in need. She retired in 2015 when her health began to fail and donated the property where her shop was to the Ladies in Action for the continued use of the organization.
Clara was a very loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. She is survived by her daughter, Kerri Etminan; two grandchildren, Bijan Etminan and Persia Etminan; sister, Billie White; and two brothers, Johnny Ellis and Richard Ellis and a host of close relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Corbett and Eather Ellis; husband, Woodrow White and brothers, Roddof, Hiarm and Harvey Lee.
