Obituary

Clara Campbell, 72, of Wimberley Texas, passed away on December 1st, 2022 after a long battle trying to recover from a stroke in 2018. Clara was born on June 22, 1950 to Ernest and Marian Levingston at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston Texas. She graduated from C.E. King High School in 1968.Several years after graduating she started her first career at Hartford Insurance as an Insurance adjuster, kickstarting a long 27 year career. In 1979, Clara met Eddie Campbell in Houston Texas. Clara and Eddie later married in 1982 and went on to have one child, Leslie Campbell as well as a child from a previous marriage, Michelle Matlock. In 2005, Clara retired from Hartford and shortly after began working for Angels for Elders as a caregiver/scheduler for the elderly of Wimberley. The caregivers and families were always asking about Clara and would talk about how she was always so upbeat, joyful and willing to help them solve their problems. Her kindness, patience and laughter made the office a fun place to be. After retiring from Angels she would still help them part time as needed to keep busy. Clara loved taking care of all the dogs she had through the years and was always doting on them. In her later years when she was bed bound she was always making sure her family knew the dogs were outside and needed back inside "right now and you better feed them too!!"Clara had an infectious laugh and smile. She loved helping others and making sure they were taken care of. Her favorite pastime was shopping. She was a lifelong shop-a-holic always searching for the next good deal. Clara loved Christmas and her love language was most definitely giving gifts. She would make sure everyone got a little something to feel special during the Christmas season and would make it very special for her family every year. Clara loved the Lord and was a member of Cypress Creek Church in Wimberley since 1999. After the stroke had her wheelchair bound and later bed bound she and Eddie would not miss a live online streaming service on Sunday.
Clara was preceded in death by her mother and father Ernest and Marian Levingston and her grandparents August and Mary Vrana and Charles and Clara Levingston.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie Campbell; daughters:  Michelle Matlock and Leslie Campbell;  granddaughter, Jessica Matlock; siblings: Charles Levingston (and wife Linda), Mike Levingston, Patricia Nowlin; and sister in law, Priss Nelson; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
