Charles "Chuck" was born on June 1, 1926 in Houston, Texas to David George Coull and Mary Lottie Smith Coull. God called Mr. Coull home on Sunday, May 15, 2016 in Groveton, Texas.
Chuck served on the front line of the Army as a medic in the Philippines. He returned home to marry the love of his life, Susie. They were together for 66 years. He was the father of three children, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
During his career he managed clothing stores. Chuck managed stores in Houston and Seguin and owned a clothing store in Seguin, Texas. In the early 80's Chuck and Susie moved to Friday and acquired the Friday General Store. Later, he went to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice where he was a Major over the Garment Factory at the Eastham Unit. He received an award from the American Corrections Association for his work with death row offenders in a garment factory. He was a member of the Friday Baptist Church serving as a Deacon, a member of the Shriners club and the Seguin Kiwanis Club.
Chuck enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed sitting on his front porch drinking coffee and rocking with family and friends. Walking in his pasture in early mornings with the cows was another of his past time favorites. He was happiest when the family would gather at the house in Friday for holiday dinners to include homemade ice cream. He would always have the beater. There was always enough for all and plenty to put in the freezer for his late night treat. He loved watching football, especially the Cowboys. He would love to call family and discuss the highlights from the night's game. Chuck was a family man and he loved to spend time with everyone but he especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents David and Mary Lottie Coull; brother David Coull, Jr. and granddaughter Jeanie Shanafelt.
