Charles Delbert Ashworth was born January 29, 1942 to Henry and Polly Ann (Davis) Ashworth. God called Mr. Ashworth home on Friday, January 10, 2020 at the age of 77 years 11 months and 12 days.
Mr. Ashworth loved to enjoy life. He enjoyed traveling to the casinos to try his luck with gambling and almost always came out a winner. He also loved the outdoors. He liked to fish and hunt whenever the seasons came around. He also, had a special gift with wood working and could often be found creating some beautiful artwork in his shop. But Charles especially loved spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Polly Ashworth; wife, Paula Ashworth and his daughter, Regina Ashworth Pyle. His survivors include his son, Charles Delbert Ashworth, II and husband, Paul Twitchell, Jr. of Massachusetts; son-in-law, Judd Pyle of Trinity, Texas; three brothers: Grover Ashworth of Groveton, Texas, Dewey Ashworth of Kennard, Texas and Cleon Ashworth of Groveton, Texas; grandchildren: Cassidy, Cameron, Starla and husband, David and Brittany; great grandchildren, Tanner Kellum, Dylan Haygood, Parker Kellum and Abigail Campbell; special friend, Delores Cook of Trinity and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Prairie View Methodist Church in Nogales Prairie. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Prairie View Methodist Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Nogales Prairie.
Pallbearers: Henry Isabell, Curtis Emmons, Martin Briddick, Brad Gardner, Brandon Gardner and Steven Nobles.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of his beloved late wife, Paula Ashworth.
