Funeral services for Carrell Edd Norsworthy, 87 of the Possum Walk Community will be held Thursday, March 24th, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Brother Lester McAdams officiating. Burial will follow in East Prairie (Possum Walk) Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24th, 2016 at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas. He will be escorted to his grave by his pallbearers: Jason Norsworthy, Cory Norsworthy, A.C. McKee, Brandon Norsworthy, Kevin Holmes, Jon Nathan Sexton, James Smith and Devin Gentry. Honorary pallbearers: Todd McCain, Joey Winters and Vincent Schaefer.
Carrell was born on June 1st, 1928 in Possum Walk, Texas to Albert Norsworthy and Emma (Kennedy) Norsworthy. God called Mr. Norsworthy home on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 in Lufkin, Texas.
Mr. Norsworthy loved all of his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outdoors in his garden and when he wasn't gardening then he loved to hunt and fish. He was a mechanic by trade and he was known for his relationship with God. He loved to read his Bible and he was affiliated with the East Prairie Church of Christ Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lettie Faye Norsworthy; a son, Carrell Dean Norsworthy; his parents, Albert and Emma Norsworthy and a granddaughter, Katie Michelle Norsworthy.
Mr. Norsworthy is survived by his loving children: daughter, Carolyn Ramriez and husband, Gary of Crockett, Texas, son, Wayne Norsworthy and wife Kathy of Possum Walk, Texas and son, Kelly Norsworthy and wife, Tiffany of Spring, Texas; grandchildren: A. C. McKee and wife, Jackie of Ft. Worth, Texas, Kimberly Coxsey and husband, William of Pennington, Texas, Jason Norsworthy and wife, Jelisa of Temple, Texas, Sara Schaefer and husband, Vincent of San Diego, California, Cory Norsworthy and fiancé, Iris Driskell of Pennington, Texas, Page Norsworthy of Spring, Texas, Tanner Norsworthy of Spring, Texas, Brandon Norsworthy of Spring, Texas and James Warren Smith of Possum Walk, Texas; great grandchildren: Talen Andrew Schaefer of San Diego, California, Samuel Norsworthy of Temple, Texas, Kaden Schaefer of Alvin, Texas, Haden Schaefer of Alvin, Texas, Jacob Pair of Ft. Worth, Texas, Kayla Hill of Ft.Worth, Texas; five sisters and a host of other relatives and friends.
