Carolyn Ann Johnson was born in Hudson, Texas on October 30, 1945 the daughter of the late Flurry Alexander Johnson and Audie Powell Johnson. She passed away on October 12, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas at the age of 72 years.

Carolyn graduated from Groveton High School in 1964 and was a proud Groveton Indian.  She was a lifetime member of the Groveton Ex Students Association.  Carolyn met the love of her life, Louis E. Snyder and they were married in 1965.  She and her family resided in Groveton, Texas.  She was an extremely hard worker and loved to live life to the fullest.  Carolyn faced many adversities in her life, but never complained and always, always had a smile on her face.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Groveton and loved to attend church whenever the doors were open. She loved her family and she especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play in their sporting events.  She was an avid traveler and she and her family would often go on little vacations whenever they had the opportunity.  She worked hard within the Groveton Community as well as in her home until her health would no longer allow her to be involved.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Louis E. Snyder of Groveton, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ronald North of Woodlake, Texas; daughter, Karen Carr of Utah; daughter, Melba Snyder of Groveton, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Louis W.  and Janet Snyder of Lufkin, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Sylverene and Glenn Anderson of Apple Springs, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, James and Jane Snyder of Oregon; siblings:  sister, Louise Joyner and husband, Doyle; sister, Linda King; brother, Terry Johnson and wife, Ray Ellen; sister, Margaret Morris and husband, Gary; sister, Emily Gaston; grandchildren: David Snyder and wife, Lina, Danette Snyder, Joshua Snyder, Justin Snyder, Aaron Anderson and wife, Amanda, Garet Carr, Guner Carr and Gavan Carr; numerous great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other beloved relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Flurry and Audie Johnson; her beloved son-in-law, Terry Lynn Carr and numerous other family members.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday until service time and the burial will be held private.
