Carl Lewis Brooks was born on April 21, 1929 in Trinity County, Texas to Robert E. Lee Brooks and Pearl Campbell Brooks and passed away on November 19, 2019 at the age of 90 in Tomball, Texas.

Visitation for Mr. Brooks will begin at 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Sumpter Cemetery in Woodlake, Texas with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating. Burial will follow.

Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, Robert E. Lee Brooks and Pearl Brooks; brother, Edward Brooks; sister, Eloise Lockhart; sons: Carl Eugene Brooks and Kenneth Ray Brooks; mothers of his children: Ima Jean Brooks, Linda Lea Brooks and Sandra Fae Wright.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his children: daughter, Shirley Pope of Tomball, Texas; son, Jimmy Brooks and wife, Debbie Brooks of Lufkin, Texas; son, Robert W. Brooks and wife, Elizabeth Brooks of Apple Springs, Texas; son, Daryrl Brooks and wife, Nell Brooks of Channel View, Texas; daughter, Daphne Spence and husband, Barry Spence of Santa Fe', Texas; daughter, Karla Bussey and husband, Jimmy Bussey of Magnolia, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sherry Brooks of Lufkin, Texas; sister, Thelma Thornton; sister, Lila Gressett of Groveton, Texas; brother, Lee Brooks of Utah; brother, Don Brooks and wife, Glenda Brooks of Henderson, Texas; twelve grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
