Mr. Billy Mac Brister, 50, of Groveton, Texas, passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 4, 1976, in Lufkin, Texas.
Mr. Brister was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Brister. He is survived by his wife, April Hurst of Groveton; children, Matthew Brister of Groveton, Emily Brister of Groveton, Braydon Smith of Groveton, and Scarlett Smith of Groveton; mother, Beverly Brister of Groveton; brother, Glen Brister and wife, Christi Brister of Groveton; and grandchildren, Landry Brister and Tre Watts. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends who dearly loved him.
Mr. Brister was a 1994 graduate of Centerville High School and attended college before pursuing a career in the mechanical industry. He worked faithfully as a shop technician and was highly regarded for his strong work ethic and dedication. He had a special talent for building motors and enjoyed working on various projects. Outside of work, he loved caring for his farm and especially enjoyed spending time on his tractor.
Family was the heart of Mr. Brister's life. He cherished gatherings with loved ones, particularly days spent by the pool filled with laughter and joy. He lived a life marked by quiet strength, devotion, and integrity. A man of faith, he was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Matthew Brister, Mr. Braydon Smith, Mr. Cody Brister, Mr. Jeremy Brister, Mr. Glen Brister, and Mr. Jamarcus Watts.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Groveton Funeral Home, 1019 West First Street, Groveton, Texas. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Brister will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather whose kindness and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
