Betty Muriel Luce Jones age 75, of Kennard, Texas was born on November 21, 1938 in Houston County, Texas to her parents, Archie and Pearline Hathorn Luce and completed her earthly journey and went to be with her Lord and savior on March 1, 2014 in Crockett, Texas. In her working years, she worked for the University of Houston until her retirement after twenty-five years of service. She loved the Lord and enjoyed attending services with her church family at Calvary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Nogalus Prairie, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Calvary Baptist Church in Nogalus Prairie, Texas with Dr. Doyle Jones and Rev. James Whittlesey officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery and she will be escorted to her final resting place by her pallbearers, Harold Gene Jones, Ronald Odom, Randy Odom, Patrick Jones, Charlie Jones and Mark Luce.

Her survivors include her life-long companion, J.W. Jones; daughter, Debra Peveto, of Lufkin, Texas; son, Glen Wayn Jones, of Apple Springs, Texas; daughter, Diane Ashworth, of Groveton, Texas; son, Kenneth Ray Jones, of Apple Springs, Texas; sister, Marie Prothro; sister, Dorothy Warren; sister, Virginia Odom; sister, Elaine Rooney; brother, David Luce; brother, Danny Luce; sister; Darlene Whittlesey; sixteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, also survive.
