Bethel Lou Bennett Speck, a woman who loved life and cherished the people who shared it with her, passed away on August 25, 2026, in Crockett, Texas.

Bethel was born on November 16, 1941, at her family home in Shady Grove, Texas, to Cecil Milton Bennett and Woody Dell Frezell Bennett. Throughout her life, she found joy in family, friendship, faith, and the simple blessings of each day. Her warmth and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

On August 17, 2007, Bethel married her beloved husband, Boyd Speck of Kennard. Together, they shared 19 years of love and companionship.

Bethel was a longtime member of Eastgate Family Church in Crockett, where she was part of a treasured church family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Woody Dell Bennett; her brother, Doyle Bennett; and her sister, Kathryn Arnold.

Bethel is survived by her husband, Boyd Speck of Kennard; her two sons; three stepsons; several grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother, Calvin Bennett and wife Christa of Grapeland; brother, J.C. Bennett of Tennessee; sister, Jody Tucker and husband James of Tennessee; and sister-in-law, Billie Bennett of Latexo. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

A graveside service for Mrs. Bennett will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Pennington Cemetery, with her nephew, Darryl Bennett, officiating.

Bethel's life was composed of love, faith, family, and joy. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
