Graveside services for Bennie Darrell Trammell, age 88 of Groveton, TX will begin Monday, July 24, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. in Nelta Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, TX.
Bennie Darrell Trammell was born July 26, 1934, in Altus, OK to Margaret Keys Trammell Rhodes and returned to his heavenly home Thursday, July 20, 2023, at his home in Groveton, TX.
Bennie was what he considered to be a "simple" man. As a child, he was raised attending Church of Christ where he enjoyed learning about God. He was a hard worker and worked as a communications specialist for many years until his retirement. He was very proud to say that he was a part of putting Armstrong on the moon while he was working with Nasa. Bennie loved to travel and was fortunate to get to do that with his career. He also loved to fly. In his spare time, he enjoyed building things with his hands, tinkering with motors, spending time outdoors and observing the animals.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Rhodes.
Bennie is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sue Trammell; daughter, Kathleen Davis and husband, Jim; daughter, Tiffany Joe Orillian and husband, Roger; son, Darrell Trammell; daughter, Recona Eulana Lopez and husband, Gilbert; son, Eric Coffman and wife, Deann; son, Carl Coffman and wife, Lulu; son, Tony Coffman and wife, Denise; grandchildren: Colt, Cannon, Chelsea, Amanda, Christopher, Felica, Joshua, Jennifer, Jason, Amber, Valida, Ely, Erica, Morgan, Evan, and a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
