Becky L. Scardino Gilmore "Aunt B" of Groveton, TX, born April 21, 1955, and passed away April 18, 2026.
Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Gilmore, grandparents, Lawrence and Mamie Scardino, parents, Mac and Lena Hartt and niece, Amanda Thompson.
Becky is survived by her daughter, Raelyn Gilmore Wars, and husband, James Wars; sister, Sherrill Portis and husband, Bryan; bonus children, Steven Gilmore and wife, Teresa, Cindy Bryant and husband, Howard; precious grandchildren, John Wars and Emma Wars; bonus grandson, Tyler Henderson; nephew, Charlie Thompson; great nephew, C.J. Thompson; great great nephews, Kohen Thompson and Jameson Thompson; along with numerous other family and friends.
Becky retired from TDCJ with nearly twenty years of experience. She spent most of her career in Accounting and Business Services where she formed lifelong friendships. She held numerous positions, including Accountant and Team Lead where she worked diligently to locate victims of crime for restitution. In 2017 Becky retired as a Payroll Specialist. She later worked part time at Susie Qs in Groveton and then officially retired again. Becky loved to play cards and games and travel with her absolute best friends, Tricia Rowe, Melanie Prause and Stacy Rodgers.
The family will receive visitors beginning at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Groveton Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM with Evangelist Erica Schapaka officiating and Russell Robertson assisting at Pennington Cemetery in Pennington, Texas.
