Arvalee Dial passed from this life into eternity on September 5, 2019 at his home in Groveton, TX at the age of 91 years. He was born in Groveton, TX on September 20, 1927, the son of Wirt and Nettie Scroggins Dial. He was a graduate of SHSU with his BS and later met the love of his life, Florine Countryman. Later, they were married in Huntsville on the 16th day of September of 1955. Mr. Dial helped with the Good Will Ambassador with Mexico, served as Mayor of Groveton, TX and was a "Lifetime" teacher. He enjoyed being a father and later, he especially enjoyed when he became a grandfather, then a great grandfather and a great-great grandfather. He and Florine loved their family. Mr. Dial belonged as a member at First Baptist Church of Groveton.
Mr. Dial was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 64 years, Mildred Florine Dial of Groveton, TX; his children: sons, William Stephen Dial and Richard Stanley Dial, both of Groveton, TX; daughter, Sonya Rene Dial of Huntsville, TX; son, Stuart Lee Dial and wife, Carol of Groveton, TX; son, Michael Roy Huddleston of Coldspring, TX; grandchildren: Autumn Dial, Stuart Dial, II and wife, Jacqueline, William Dial and wife, Tiffany; 13 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends, also survive.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Groveton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, TX with Bro. Lewis Jones officiating and Bro. Beuford Rogers assisting. Interment will follow in East Prairie Cemetery in Possumwalk, TX.
