Ada Barrett Sanford Rasberry
Funeral Services for Ada Barrett Sanford Rasberry, 51, of Groveton, Texas will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Cartwright Memorial Chapel of the Groveton Funeral Home in Groveton, Texas with Bro. Cotton officiating. Interment to follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Center, Texas. Visitation will start at 10:00 AM until service time.
Ada was born on November 26, 1959 in Center, Texas the daughter of Robert Sanford, Sr. and Jewel Nelda Newberry Sanford and passed away December 19, 2010 in Lufkin, Texas. She and her sister Vada were maternal twins, being the sixth and seventh of ten children.
She was mother to Brandi Bell and Eddie Nash and had six grandchildren. She was married on March 2, 2004, to Granville Rasberry. Her husband, preceded her in death, having passed away on March 15, 2010. She is also preceded in death by her father, Robert Sanford and a brother, WC Sanford.
Ada symbolized her dedication to Jehovah God on November 8, 2008, at a Circuit Assembly of Jehovah's Witnesses in Rosenburg, Texas. She was a member of the Northshore Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Channelview. Her faith in Jehovah's promise of a resurrection (John 5:28, 29) remained strong until her death. She took great delight in sharing her beliefs with others.
She survived by her loving mother, Jewel Sanford, 80 years of age, of Groveton, Texas, special niece, Lexie Jewel Sanford, daughter, Brandi Bill and husband Jamison Bill of Center, Texas, son, Eddie Nash and wife Michelle Nash, sister, Linda Adams and husband O'neal McCauley, sister, Betty Byrd and husband Bill Byrd, brother, Robert (Bubba) Sanford, Jr., sister, Oveta Pyburn, sister, Vada Skelton and husband Jimmy Skelton, sister, Jeanie Moore, brother, Mikel Wayne Sanford, brother, David Keith Sanford and wife Shauna, 6 grandchildren; 19 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
